What AI is used for
- Research help: finding public records, summarising long documents, suggesting lines of enquiry.
- Drafting help: producing first drafts and plain-English explanations that a person then checks and edits.
- Admin: search snippets, social media summaries, audio read-outs and short videos made from published articles.
What AI is never used for
- Inventing quotes, sources, documents or statistics.
- Creating images, audio or video presented as real evidence of an event, place or person.
- Deciding what gets published. A person approves every article.
- Processing private legal, care-work, personal or confidential material shared with Sabir.
Human checks before publication
Every draft, however it was written, passes a pre-publication checklist before it can go live. The checklist covers primary sources, corroboration, allegation wording, legal, privacy and safeguarding risks, checked dates and figures, and whether the headline is supported. AI-drafted material is treated as unverified until those checks are done.
Disclosure
Articles drafted with AI assistance say so at the foot of the page. AI-generated illustrations are labelled where they could be mistaken for photographs. Automated audio and video versions are clearly produced from the published article text.
